Main Street USA

It's an attraction in itself, too much to do, to see!

The Disney Imagineers team initially thought of radically changing the concept of the park's main street by designing a typical mid-century Hollywood boulevard, with its large cinemas, oversized advertisements, and blinding lights._cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_
But they understood that beyond a street steeped in history, Main Street, USA also represented the American dynamism of the 1920s: the appearance of electricity, the first steam-powered vehicles, an omnipresent joie de vivre …
In order to satisfy the European public, reputed to be difficult, the decoration of the street and its “history” were improved compared to the American parks. It seems that the decor is much more neat with a multitude of details including the gaslights, the names on the windows. We can note the presence of Casey's Corner, a café, temple of baseball.

Disneyland Paris RAILROAD

It all began with Walt Disney's passion for trains! N. 2 CK Holliday Train No. 2 is named after Cyrus Kurtz Holliday, founder of the Santa Fe Railroad line in 1859. Due to the departure of this line from New England to the city of Santa Fe, the cars carry the names of resorts in this region of the northeastern United States: Coney Island, Atlantic City, Chesapeake, Long Island and Niagara Falls.
Did you know ? The initials EDRR for Euro Disneyland Railroad are still visible in several places in the park, including the ironwork of the Main Street station, USA. Following the renaming of the park in 1994, the train was renamed Disneyland Paris Railroad and then simply Disneyland Railroad in 1995.

THE CASTLE OF SLEEPING BEAUTY

The Disneyland Paris castle is certainly the one with the most magical architecture. Indeed, the imaginneers, fearing that the French and Europeans accustomed to visiting magnificent historic castles, wanted to create a real "fairy tale castle", more slender, more elegant, more magical than anything that had been built up to now. 'here. It stands at the end of Main Street, which opens up a majestic perspective on this extraordinary building. The castle also marks the entrance to Fantasyland, an enchanted kingdom dedicated to princesses and fairy tales.  The highest of the towers includes two illuminated stained glass windows on either side, making it seem that the castle is inhabited. This is a reference to the history of the castles of the Loire which states that when the king was present in one of the castles, a stained glass window was thus lit to signal his presence. La realization of the stained glass windows is supervised by Peter Chapman, who was previously in charge of the restoration of those of Notre Dame de Paris. Retired at the time of the project, he resumed service for this creation.
