Disney's Animal Kingdom
Disney's Animal Kingdom (DAK) is an American zoological _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_ theme park. It opened on April 22, 1998 at Walt Disney World Resort ( Florida ) west of the property, on many marshes, near the estate's forest farm.
The largest of the Disney parks, it is the response of the Walt Disney Company to the growing success of animal parks in Florida 90-cc78 SeaWorldd Orlando
The animals evolve in a recreated setting with many details and acclimatized plants.

The park was not originally intended to be an accredited zoo 3 but subsequently received accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), valid until March 2010 4 The first connection between the AZA and the park dates from 2002 and relates to the initiation of an animal exchange program for breeding 5.
The park was to be divided into three main sections: living animals, extinct animals (dinosaurs, etc.) and mythical animals (dragons, unicorns, etc.):
The live animal section was to present a safari with real animals mainly African. A similar section on Asia was later added but without safari.
The section of extinct animals was to allow a trip to Cretaceous thanks to the latest audio-animatronics.
The mythical animals section was to be called Beastlie Kingdom, and would contain a roller coaster ride in a dragon's cave, a fantasy maze with unicorns, and a mythological cruise. It was to be located in place of the current Camp Minnie- Mickey "temporary" country. Projects in this area were postponed due to the meager budget for the park and only four out of five countries were budgeted. Although Disney's Animal Kingdom does not contain any mythical animal attractions, the theme still exists on the park logo (which contains a dragon) and the parking lot (the unicorn section). Dragon sound effects and occasional fireballs emanate from a statue hidden behind trees near the bridge leading to Camp Minnie-Mickey ; the statue is visible from boats traveling around Discovery Island.
The park required a different approach from that of previous Disney parks, mainly by presenting living animals in a setting that suited them and not simply passed off as real for the visitor 6. This notion of a living park thus forced the Imagineers to let nature take its course, with a little help 7.
The development cost for this park is estimated at more than $800 million. The park included at its opening 1500 animals of 300 different species, mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians, 5000 fish of 50 species and thousands of insects of 40 species 8.
The park is divided into 5 countries, over an area of more than 2 km². It also incorporates the radial plan inaugurated by Disneyland . The entrance to the park, named The Oasis serves as Main Street Usa to immerse visitors in the atmosphere, here the architectural style is that of Arts & Crafts american , and more precisely the American Craftsman Style 9 but it is above all nature with a huge garden that brings the visitor into the park. A double arch marks the separation between the Oasis and the next section, reminiscent of the passage under the railway track of parks like Disneyland 10. But here, no train goes around the park although there is a railway track. railway, that of the Wildlife Express Train which connects the center of the park to the animal nursery located at the far end of the park.
The next section is an island Discovery Island surmounted by a gigantic tree and from which bridges lead to the other countries of the park. Behind the tree of life two other bridges lead either to en Africa or to en Asia . The railway line separates them. These two parts seem to have the same size but a large space of nearly 25,000 m² is available behind Asia .
